Trip around Hakone

Can anyone shed light on how long it takes to go around the Hakone tourist sites from Gora wit a visit to the Volcanoe crater etc to the lake boat ride. When is the last bus to leave Moto Hakone for Yumoto for Dec? Plan to take the Romance car and arrive 12.30 and be staying overnite at Ryokan near Yumoto.

Depends on the "etc" and on where you start and end. The classic circuit takes about half a day if you travel quickly. A full day if you travel at a leisurely pace. I recommend to travel during the week as opposed to weekends to avoid crowds and possible waiting times.

Note also that it gets dark and tourist attractions, ships and ropeways shut down by around 17:00. That's the recommended time for check in into the ryokan, anyway.
