I will stay at Sunshine city prince hotel in Ikebukuro. Can anyone please recommend good restaurants around the hotel for me? I like ramen, shabu-shabu, sushi.

Anyone of the major neighbourhoods of Tokyo, Ikebukuro included, has hundreds of restaurant if not more, especially around the local JR station.Restaurants are also found in the basement of office buildings, in big department stores etc. Ramen places are a dime a dozen!

We went to Yakeruyanka for dinner in Ikebukuro. Was a great place, you can cook your own food (including yummy okonomiyaki) on a hot plate at your table. Sorry, I can't remember what street it was on, but it was reached by going up a small lift. They have signage on a freestanding billboard on the street. It was off one of the main streets in west Ikebukuro.

There is a really great garlic-themed restaurant in the Parco building. I can't remember the name... Ninikuya, I believe. Or something similar. If garlic is your thing, you will love it. :)

of course how could you miss momo paradise? momo paradise is a tabehoudai (all you can eat) sukiyaki, nabe and shabushabu restaurant. the one in ikebukuro shares a floor with the gran cyber cafe and is also right next to the big humax theatre and tokyu hands ikebukuro. here's a map of the netcafe, momoparadise is on the 4th floor and down the hall to the left once you get off the elevator if i remember correctly. http://www.bagus-99.com/netcafe/store/image/map_ikebukuro.gi...enjoy! damn good sukiyaki tabehoudai for 1800yen at dinnertime, around 1100yen at lunch.
