Keisei Skyliner 2008/12/1 23:06
Hi,

I have a quick question regarding the Keisei Skyliner.

I'm planning on departing Tokyo on the 20th December, and Keisei looks to be the cheapest option.

Do I need to book a seat on the skyliner or can i just go to the counter on the day and buy a ticket?

Thanks heaps

It is not the cheapest solution, as explained here:

Both! You book the seat at the time when you buy the ticket on the day at the counter.

Yes, its not the cheapest but i think it might be the most convenient.

We are staying in Akasaka, i'm thinking Keisei Skyliner might be the most worthwhile (speed and cost), considering my JR pass will have expired.

I'm just worried whether i need to book a seat, as i don't want to miss the flight home.

Thanks for the answers.

Helps a lot

The most convenient option, in my opinion, would be a direct airport bus, in case you stay at or close to one of the few hotels served in the Akasaka area:

Skyliners do not usually book out, and I am pretty sure that they won't be booked out on December 20, because it is before the start of the New Year holidays. In the worst case, you could ride a Keisei limited express train (no seat reservations possible) instead of the Skyliner.
