Hi guys,
I'm spending 3 weeks in Japan.
For the itinerary below what is the best option in terms of Rail passes? I plan to see as many of the major attractions around each city as possible.
7 nights in Tokyo 3 nights in Nagano 2 nights in Nagoya 2 nights in Kyoto 4 nights in Osaka
Thanks!
Paul

A rail pass is unlikely to pay off. I recommend to travel by regular tickets and use prepaid cards in the cities. Maybe use a highway bus here and there if you are interested in reducing costs. Travel options between the cities is covered in the following sightseeing guide: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e623a.html
