ATM Cards in Hakuba

I heard that people have encountered problems using ATMs in Hakuba. If my international ATM card works in the 7-Elevens and Post Offices in Tokyo, can I assume it will work fine in the 7-Elevens and Post Offices in Hakuba?
Also, does anyone know if most of the restaurants accept credit cards? (say if we are going to a pub or izakaya for dinner) Thanks :)

The PO and 7-11 ATMs in Hakuba should also accept your cards.
While the restaurants and izakayas may well accept credit cards, a good rule of thumb in Japan is to never rely on your cards. Always make sure you have enough cash to cover whatever you plan to do that day just in case.
