I am going to Yuzawa on 1 Jan. May I know is Yuzawa snowing now? Any other places close to Tokyo can view stronger snow?

we just got back from japan. we went skiing at mt naeba on dec 7th-9th. stayed at the Prince Naeba. the slopes are right infront of the hotel.
IT WAS SNOWING ALL DAY WE WERE THERE !! we felt so lucky since that trip was actually hoped to be our fist encounter with snow.
