The words, "Japanese styled party" sounds a bit funny to me.
Actually, I think there are no notion which directly corresponds to
the American or western "party".
Although Japan might be famous for its way of tea,
it is a very strict and formal one, and unless one seriously studies it,
a party along the way of tea is impossible.
And I cannot tell you this, for I have never learned it.
So let me make a suggestion.
From the word "party" I associated Japanese "Nabe" dinner.
Its a style of dinner which might corresponds to western barbecue.
Instead of baking foods on fire and eating around the fire,
we sit around a pan, boil a soup in it, and blanch prepaired foods and dip on some kind of sauce and eat.
Imagine cheese fondu if you know.
You may put almost any kind of vegitables and meat, or fish,
but you need to cut it down to a reasonable size lest it should not be raw when eating.
And you need to keep a constant heat source to keep the soup boiling.
If you get interested in, let's consider what kind of soup and sauce is handy in your country.
