Kabuki with Kids? 2008/12/31 02:50
My wife and I would like to attend a one-act performance at the Kabuki-za theater while we are in Tokyo in April - we have one child, age 5 - does anyone know if they allow children to attend/have age restrictions on who can attend?

Kabuki-za's official website says there's no age limit and that children are allowed as long as they don't annoy others. Sorry that the website is only in Japanese.

Kabuki can be very boring to kids, though.

If I'm not mistaken, the Kabukiza is closed for renovation for about a year.

It's not closed yet, but will be completely demolished and rebuilt from April 2010, and will open again in 2013.
