Tomakomai ferry to Sendai 2009/1/8 02:03
Hi,we are french people and we'll go to Hokkaido in july and we'd like to get the ferry Taiheiyo at Tomakomai to sendai but the web site is in japanese: we can't reserve the tickets because we don't read japanese !!
We've contacted them by e-mail but no answer .
Any ideas ?
Thank you

If you don't bring a car and don't want to travel in a special suite, it will probably be no problem to just buy the tickets at the ferry pier before boarding. If you prefer to make advance reservations, I recommend to try to phone or ask your hotel receptionist in Japan to try to help you make a reservation.

We have taken many ferries around Japan and recommend it. Sometimes if you send a few emails you get onto an English speaker. As Uji says, you will get a booking from there ok otherwise. Good seniors discounts if you ask.

Just back from the same exact route Tomakomai - Sendai on the ship ''Kiso'', really great value (ship is quite luxurious) and far from being full especially in higher room classes (plenty of room for cars too). Check availabilities by phone before going to the harbor and then check-in at least 90 minutes in advance to book and pay (cards OK). Note that prices increase by 50% from July 17 due to summer school holidays.
