Kitaoji Station to Golden Pavillion...

Hi all,

I was just wondering if it was possible to walk from Kitaoji Station on the Karasuma Subway Line to the Golden Pavillion, and how long it would take?

We are trying to save as much money as possible therefore trying to avoid taxis.

Yes, I have done it before! And you can visit Daitokuji Temple along the way, if interested. The entire walk is about 2.5 kilometers and takes about 30-45 minutes without stops.

Is it easy to find the golden pavillion from the station by walking or is it really confusing?

Also, we want to visit the Kamigamo and Shimogamo shrines on the same day.

We will be walking from Kitayama Station on the Karusuma Subway line to Kamigamo, but I was wondering if it was possible to then walk from this shrine to the other, and how long it would take?

Or would it be better to catch a bus from Kamigamo to Shimogamo shrine? (Is there one?)
