Snow at Prince Naeba in mid April ?

Can anyone tell me about the snow quality at Prince Naeba in mid April. We are from a tropical country and I just want my kids to experience the snow.

All we want is just a snow playground for children, not skiing. Will it worth to go there considering it takes approx 2.5 hrs to get there. Someone told me that the snow will be melted by then. But from Prince Naeba website, the ski season ends in early May. Please advice. Thank you.

If there is still snow, its quality will be bad. For a snow experience, I would rather check out the Kurobe-Tateyama Alpen Route, but note that it only opens from April 17, 2009:
