Hi There. Can anywhere suggest a nice nights stop over between a night at koyasan and one at Mt. Fuju? Will be heading for 10 days in Toyko after this. Thanks. Lucy

I did a Hakone to Koyasan venture part of a much longer trip two years ago. We stayed in Hakone (which I go back to yearly) and shot straight to Koyasan from there. We left Hakone about 11 am, caught the Shinkansen to shin-osaka, subway to downtown, walked to Namba station, hopped on the limited express, and finally got to the cable car... all by sunset. It made for an eventful day, then spent two nights in Koyasan. Even though it is quiet and small, there is plenty to do. You can spend the day at the cemetary alone.
