i'm having a hard time deciding where to stay in kyoto. im looking for an area with inexpensive breakfast/dinner restaurants, and maybe within walking distance of shopping/nightlife.

thanks, i actually didn't have a choice as everything is sold out first weekend of april. i wanted to stay in gion but ended up in the shijo area after looking for a hotel/ryokan with availability. im good now.
