Just wondering if you can book tickets for the bus from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go somwhere other than the bus stop in Kanazawa? More specifically is there somewhere I can book tickets in Osaka?

You can make reservations by phone from anywhere in the world. For example, you could ask your hotel concierge in Osaka to help you make the reservation by phone in case you do not speak Japanese.
Bus reservations are probably also possible at convenience stores. Again, Japanese language knowledge will make the process considerably easier.
