Hi, am planning to go to Yoshino on 6 Apr 09. Is this a good time to catch the sakura? Also, does anyone have the info of the shuttle service that travels to the various temples?

It is too early to say. In case 2009 will be a late blooming year, you might be a little bit early. But if it will be an average or early blooming year, your timing will be good. Judging from this year's above average temperatures, it is unlikely but not impossible that 2009 will be a late blooming year. So, I think, April 6 is proabably good timing to see the blossoms.

Yoshino shuttle

There is information regarding the Yoshino shuttle on this site, as well as a little map to show where it goes. It doesn't say how often the shuttle runs from the train station, but it only runs in April. Funny, I'll be hitting Yoshino on the 7th of April! Hope we luck out and see lots of cherry blossoms!
