Any ideas for the cheapest way to fly, one-way, from japan to the u.s.? flexible on which airports i fly in/out of..thanks

The easiest way to save on your ticket is to fly during off-seasons.

Secondly, although you fly one way, buy a round trip ticket. Round trip tickets tend to be much cheaper than one way tickets.

Note also that many airlines are drastically decreasing or abolishing fuel surcharge fees these days. Taking into consideration the days from which the lowered fuel charges come into effect, might be wise, too (although some airlines partially compensate fuel surcharge decreases by base fare increases).

Flying out of Tokyo or Osaka is usually cheapest.
