Questions about JR East Pass 2009/2/25 00:07
Once I obtain my JR East Pass, can I use it from Tokyo airport into Tokyo? Will I be able to use the pass inside Tokyo? Can the pass let me goto Nagano, Matsumoto and Mt.Fuji? Thank you very very much

Once I obtain my JR East Pass, can I use it from Tokyo airport into Tokyo?

Yes, using either the JR Narita Express or other JR trains.

Will I be able to use the pass inside Tokyo?

Yes, but only JR trains, such as the JR Yamanote Line.

Can the pass let me goto Nagano, Matsumoto and Mt.Fuji?

Matsumoto and Nagano yes. The closest you can go to Mount Fuji is Otsuki Station along the JR Chuo Line or Kozu or Odawara Station on the JR Tokaido Line. From there, you have to use transportation which is not covered by the JR East Pass.

Yes, but only if you ride the "Goron to Shito" compartments:

If you use regular berth or a private room, you will have to pay a supplement.
