Kyoto -Special events n flea markets?

Hi I need some advice thanks. Can anyone tell me if there's anything special happening between 22 May to 26 May in Kyoto and 26-29 May in Tokyo? I will do the usual tourist places but would like to hear if anyone's got tips of where to go for say flea markets/special events/do no t miss things to do etc during this time. Welcome any tips on where to eat and shop cheap. I will be staying in K's House in Kyoto (any reviews welcomed too) and staying in Dai Ichi Seafort Hotel Tokyo near Shinagawa. Unfortunately famous flea market of Toji is held on 21th.
But another flea market will be held on 25th at Kitano Tenmangu shirine.

Kitano Tenmangu's fleamarket is one of Japan's largest and most famous fleamarkets. If you are into fleamarkets, it is certainly worth going.
