how many hours in kamakura 2009/3/22 16:14
I'm planning to stop in Kamakura on the way from Kyoto to Tokyo. How long does it take to explore Kamakura? 3 hours enough? I want to get to Shinjuku around 4pm.
Thanks!

Depends on how much you want to see. Just the Great Buddha can be visited in two hours. Hachimangu and the Buddha about three hours. If you add Kita-Kamakura, I recommend five hours. etc.

The above does not include the two hours train ride to get there and back.

I think we'll be pretty templed out by the time we get to Kamakura so 3 hours sounds good.
Thanks!
