I am planning on visiting both hakone and izu peninsula. how far is it from hakone from izu peninsula? is it better to go from tokyo? another thing is that if i am already going to hakone, should i skip going to izu peninsula?

The peninsula starts where Hakone ends. A bus from Moto-Hakone at the shores of Lake Ashi to Atami at the northern base of the peninsula takes about 1 hour.

Are you asking whether it is better to return to Tokyo once in between? I am sorry, I am not sure whether I understand your question.

Depends on your time available and on your interest in the Izu Peninsula.
