Tokyo with Kids 2009/3/26 03:57
After Nagasaki, we will be visiting Tokyo with my two kids. I know the major attractions like Ueno zoo and Tokyo tower etc. looking for smaller interesting spots. Also, how old does a child have to be in order to need a subway ticket? My youngest is only 4. Do I need to buy a ticket for him? Am I best off buying a pre-paid card or getting an all day pass? I understand that some passes are not good on some train lines...

Thanks for advice 2009/3/27 01:35
Do you know of any fun playgrounds or outdoor spaces in downtown tokyo areas? I am trying to find inexpensive activities for the kids. We plan to go to Disney on a Friday and may go to Kidzania, but have something like that in Florida. Thanks!

Hi Lisa,

You'll come from Florida!
I recommend you again.

Outdoor spaces(There are no towntown of Tokyo because I think there are not natures in tokyo central):
-Kamakura(Traditional spot ,I love Kamakura!)
Kamakura is old capital city since 1192-1332.
There are many shrines and temples, and beach.
It was a city ruled by a samurai.
It takes 1 hour from tokyo with JR Yokosuka line(890 yen per Adult, kids need half price)
There is the volunteer guide for foreigner they can spreak English.

For example,...
*Tsurugaoka hachimangu(shine).
It can do a walk very widely, and feel Japanese traditional culture.
*Hase-dera(temple)
It's in the mountain.
It's necessary for you to climb the stairs, but scenery is very good.
A cherry blossam may bloom in the precincts!
*Yuigahama beach
There is a large sandy beach and The wave is calm.
A lot of people bring a dog.
You'll be able to set foot in the sea if it's warm.

-The park of the city area
You may be able to find many parks in Tokyo.
I tell URL of thats.
