i tried changing my name to katakana it turned out like this-shi-wa sa-ka-te-i is it correct .me half japanese, my sri lankan dad gave this name,if possible cud anyone tell if it means anything cos it means really weird in my lang., ( i do have katakana font on ms-office didnt know how to put it on webpage

You would have to describe how the name "shiv shakti" is pronounced in your language - katakana writes out the "sounds" of the words. And even if written in katakana, this is simply a name, no meaning in Japanese.

I don't know any Sri Lankan language; I only know English and Japanese. As far as I know, in Japanese, your name does not have any meaning.
I know I can simply paste the katakana writing onto this forum webpage (copy and paste), but that is IF you have Japanese character-enabled PC. I'm no expert on that issue :(
