nikko world heritage entry 2009/4/5 16:29
We will be purchasing a 14 day JR rail pass. This will allow us to travel from Tokyo to Nikko and the World Heritage area. Can we purchase a ticket that will pay for the buses in the area and also entry to all the buildings? The only one I can find also includes train travel from Tokyo which we don't need.

No. But there is a pass for unlimited use of buses. And there is a combination pass for entry into most of the main shrines and temples in central Nikko.

Just a question: Are you getting the 14 day JR pass only to move around Tokyo and getting to Nikko?? If thatLs your case, itLs a waste of money, it just doesnLt pay off.

The bus pass should be on sale in the ticket office of Tobu Nikko Station. Or at least they can direct you to the right ticket office.

And the combination adimission tickets are sold at the shrines and temples.

No, we are getting the 14 jr pass to travel mainly from tokyo to Kyoto to Hiroshima and back to Tokyo. Plus any side trips that we want.
