Alpine Route-ShinanoOmachi to Toyama

I was thinking of visiting the Alpine Route from Shinano-Omachi to Toyama.

Has anyone travel in this direction before? Will the transport queue be less crowded in this direction?

We did the alpine route 3rd week of April last year but in the reverse direction. Even on weekday, the stations are all crowded. So no difference which direction of travel. If possible stay 1 night at Murodo to truly appreciate the snow mountains.

I have done it in that direction. I did it on a perfect weather weekday in late April (before Golden Week), and it wasn't crowded to a degree that we could always board the next departing train/bus/cablecar. It did not look crowded in the opposite direction, either.
