Drive to Kusatsu Shirane on 20th Apr

Hi,

I'll be driving to Kusatsu on the 19th April 2009, and hope to visit Kusatsu Shirane and Yugama on the 20th. However, I hear that Route 292 is closed. The Gunma prefecture website states as follows: http://www.pref.gunma.jp/cts/contents?CONTENTS_ID=8875

Does that include the Kusatsu to Mount Shirane portion? If not, how can I visit it?

Is it still possible to cross over to Nagano prefecture from Kusatsu via Route 466?

The road is scheduled to open on April 22, 10am. I am afraid you will be a few hours early.

Especially how TM managed to get the detailed graphic of the exact extent of closure.
I need to be in Tokyo on the 22nd, so looks like Kusatsu-Shirane and Yugama will have to wait for my next visit to Tokyo. (Without the snow capped mountains no doubt)
