kirishima

Hi
I am very interested in hiking in Kirishima mountains in June. However I read that there was almost no public transportation and I can't rent a car. Does anybody can advice me on how to get there easily?

I was planing to spend the night at Kirishima, Ebino or Kobayashi.

As mentioned in the Kirishima transportation section, Ebino Kogen and the most of the trail heads can be reached by bus only on weekends. Taxis are an alternative. Kirishima Onsen is more easily accessible. It is explained towards the bottom of the page you have linked above, and on the following page:

"Ebino Kogen, however, does not enjoy any access by public transportation except on weekends and during the month of May, when two bus round trips per day are operated from/to JR Kirishima Jingu Station (65 minutes, 740 yen), making stops along the way at Kirishima Shrine and the Takachiho-gawara Visitor Center. The bus timetable from Ebino Kogen is as follows:

Buses depart Kirishimajingu Station at 8:00 and 10:20 and arrive at Ebino Kogen at 9:06 and 11:26.

In the opposite direction, they leave Ebino Kogen at 13:00 and 15:30 and arrive at Kirishimajingu Station at 14:06 and 16:36.
