Use JR Shinkansen pass on JR Line 2009/5/10 21:33
Hi,

I have purchased 7 days JR shinkansen pass which I will be using from Tokyo. May I ask can I use my JR Shinkansen pass to use on JR line (in Tokyo) during the 7 days when I operate the pass? Reason been I intend to leave my luggage in a Shinjuku hotel (coming from Ikebukuro) before I go to Kyoto & Hakone.

There is no such thing as a "Shinkansen Pass". It is called "Japan Rail Pass" and is valid not only on shinkansen, but all JR trains, including the urban JR lines in Tokyo and other cities:

I think you mean a JR Pass, which you can use on ANY JR train or bus EXCEPT NOZOMI
