Kusatsu Onsen, Hakone, or Kinosaki? 2009/5/14 21:25
We are in japan for 15 days in september (Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Koyasan, Hiroshima). We have 2 spare nights, so in the forums opinion which other destination would be best to live onsen experience and relaxing in a traditional little town: Kusatsu Onesn, Kinosaki or Hakone? we are using a JR rail pass to get around. Grazie, ciao

For the experience of a "traditional little town", Kinosaki is your best choice. Kusatsu is not bad either. In both of the two towns it is common for ryokan guests to stroll around town in the yukata in the evenings - a wonderful experience. In Hakone, it is less common for ryokan visitors to stroll around town in the evenings.
