I am not a native Japanese speaker but...it seems to me that "dakara" means "because of that" and "sorede" is more like using "and" or "thereupon."

I am a Japanese. sorede is not polite. You can use this word when you talk with your friends,or your family. But you shouldn't use this word when you talk with your boss. What is more, sorede is spoken language. So you shouldn't use this word in a sentence. But you can use dakara in any cases. So I think dakara is more useful.
