hotels

I will be in osaka for a day only and will arrive around 6pm and the next day, taking tokaido shinkansen or nozomi going to tokyo. I wanted to stay in a hotel very near the station where i should take the train. Any suggestions on what hotel? and what station should i be at, is it the Shin-osaka station or the JR osaka station? very confused.
Please help

I recommend the Ritz-Carlton Osaka. It is one of Japan's best hotels, not far from Osaka Station:

As you know, Osaka's Shinkansen station is Shin-Osaka, one stop from Osaka station. and it's convenient enough if you find a hotel near Shin-Osaka station, Osaka station or Subway Midosuji(Red) line.

Thank you Uji for your suggestion. Ritz Carlton is quite expensive. I'm looking for a 3 star hotel only. I saw 1 hotel DAI ICHI HOTEL... is this close to the station where i should take the bullet train?

The Hotel La Foret Shin-Osaka is located just next to the Shin-Osaka shinkansen station. I have not stayed there personally, but the location is very convenient:
