Old Japanese phone. Useable? 2009/5/31 10:46
When I was a foreign exchange student last year I bought a Softbank 913SH phone on contract. When I departed I cancelled the contract and kept the phone/sim card.

This summer I will be in Japan for one month on holiday. Is there any way that I can reactivate the phone for that month only?

Thanks

The sim card obviously wont work and cant be activated once the service is cancelled with softbank. Since the phone isn't linked to a prepaid service it will continue to work as a phone in Japan years on.
You just need to get a sim, perhaps rent.

I should have added the phone will only work with softbank. Which is handy for you because those sims are easy to rent.
Many features on your phone however will not work without a reprovision with usim card from softbank.
