where are these 2 onsens? 2009/6/14 20:27
Could someone please tell me where the 1st 2 rotenburos are in the youtube link below + the tel no. of the ryokan or hotel where the 2 onsens are located. My husband and I love Japanese onsens and ryokans but we don't speak Japanese so need your help here.
The first onsen is located on the roof and the second has a panoramic view of trees and the outdoors.

The first is Muikamachi Onsen:

The second is Osawayama Onsen:

Both are in Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture. The phone numbers are found on the above linked websites.

Thank you for the quick response. Visited both sites but could not find whether they are open to non-guests, ie: day use avail + how much ? Any comments or recommendations on either ryokan especially their rotenburos ? We love the Yuzawa area for skiing so these onsens would not be far to drive from Yuzawa.
Could I ask where this is (for autumn foliage) and which is nearest exit on Tohoku exp'way ? 中野もみじ山

For the first ryokan, there is a higaeri (daytime visit) plan, however, it includes either lunch or dinner and starts from 8400 yen per person for lunch and 10,500 yen for dinner. Nothing is mentioned about just using the baths.

For the second ryokan, I cannot find information on their website, but other websites state the following daytime visiting information for it: 1000 yen, 10am to 9pm

I have not heard of it before. It seems to be in Kuroishi City, Aomori Prefecture, not to far from Lake Towada. The nearest expressway exit is Kuroishi IC.

Thanks again Uji but Aomori is too far to drive from Tokyo. Perhaps we do that as a separate trip to Tohoku, combine it say with a trip to Matsushima and Naruko gorge. Could you tell me how long it would take to drive to Naruko gorge from Tokyo on a weekday with one 30 min rest stop ?
