Hi, I'm travelling to Hokkaido for the first time, in August. I will be doing a self-drive. If I have only 7 days to spend in Hokkaido, where are the must-see places I should visit? Thanks.

Depends on your interests! If you like cities, I recommend Sapporo, Hakodate and Otaru. If you like flowers, I recommend Furano. If you like to see national parks, I recommend Daisetsuzan or Shiretoko.
It also depends on which airports you will be using to enter and exit Hokkaido, because distances within Hokkaido are rather large.
