Please recommend autumn leaves spots during early Dec.I'm now considering about going to Kansai, Kyushu (Fukuoka), or Chubu (Nagoya,Takayama, Shirakawa-go).
Which area would you recommend if I want to avoid snowy places?

As a reference, take a look here: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2014.htmlMid to end of Nov. would be a better time, and you have more choices of places to go. Arashiyama in Kyoto is highly popular. Autumn foliage season for Takayama and Shirakawa-go tend to occur even earlier, definitely not during early Dec.

Thought this might be useful, I was in Japan last Dec and I still managed to see maple leaves in Tokyo and Kyoto.
