hi, could you please tell me the easiest way to get to the Takasakiyama Monkey Park in fukuoka from kobe? i will have a JR pass with me. which station would i need to get off at and from there which bus do i get? if anyone has been, is it worth going to? btw i will be going in december. thanks!

The monkey park you're interested in is in Oita Prefecture, on the mountain that separates Oita City from Beppu. You would have to take a train from Hakata (Fukuoka) to Beppu, and then take a bus to the park. Personally, I would avoid it. The macaques are overcrowded and it's a study in how overcrowding affects wild animal behavior. The social groups break down and aggression rises. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e4703.html
