Can someone tell me how to get from Kansai Airport to Hotel Granvia in Kyoto

Hotel Granvia Kyoto is in Kyoto Station Building.

Exiting JR Kyoto Sta. through 中央口 (Chuo Exit or Central Gate), you'll see this hotel, I think.

When you exit through the Central gates into the main concourse of JR Osaka look to the right for a HUGE clock: the Granvia is up the stairs (yes,stairs no ramp or escalator: about 7 steps from memory) and to the right behind the clock, next to the Right side entrance of Daimaru (Daimaru has 2 entrances)

Just to make sure:
Is the hotel you are hoping to reach named "Hotel Granvia Kyoto" ?

As fmj explains, there is another Hotel Granvia near Osaka Sta. named "Hotel Granvia Osaka."

It's an easy journey by train. From the arrivals level at Kansai, go up one floor, then exit the building using the covered walkways and following signs to the rail station. As you enter the ticket hall you'll see a JR ticket office (green colours). Go in there and ask them about the next train to Kyoto. They speak English and are very helpful. It's a simple journey, direct to Kyoto with no change of train. Once you get there, the other respondents have given you correct info - except that there is both an escalator and a lift/elevator. For the escalator you have to go through to the right, staying on the concourse level and it will eventually lead you through to the main street level entrance of the hotel. If you have bags, however, I suggest that one of you stays downstairs with them, and one of you goes up the stairs to the hotel reception and asks a bell boy to come down and help. Only they have access to the elevator, for security reasons.
