Osaka Tenjin festival?

Hi. We'll be staying in Osaka on 25th July during the Tenjin matsuri. I've done a search but can't find much info regarding what/where and when events happen. Do we need to dedicate a whole day for this or just during special times of the day? and where do we need to be? I read that there is a fireworks display at night but do not know what time it occurs and the best place to view it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If we stay in the area of Tenmangu shrine will we be able to catch all of the major events? (Riku-togyo, Funa-togyo and fireworks)
