Hello,
Will anyone be kind to tell me whether I should purchase the maps of Tokyo, Osaka & Sapporo cities when we get to Tokyo. Or can I just print them out online? Will you let me know which websites have the city maps?
Much thanks...

Hello A WELLS, Check out the website of Japan National Tourist Organization (JNTO) who has offices outside of Japan http://www.jnto.go.jp/ . This is a great resource website. Make sure to click on English. Take the time to browse and you can find Regional Guides with detailed information including maps of smaller areas around Cities and train stations including location of some hotels and tourist sites. Browse for the location and address of the JNTO office nearest to you. You can write to them or send them an e-mail requesting for the maps you're looking for and they're FREE. Ask them to mail you their ENGLISH Tourist Maps of Japan, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Sapporo as well as tourist attraction brochures in these Cities.

Check out your local Borders: they usually have an excellent maps section.
All Lonely Planet books have some maps, and the local tourist offices in Japan will have some as well.
JNTO will post maps: email them and they will send not only maps but also loads of pamphlets and info: they are really amazingly helpful.
