Hakone free pass from Gotemba

I will start from Shinjuku to Kawagushiko by Chou highway bus, check in to hotel then go to 5th station and back to the hotel by bus. We will stay 1 night at Kawagushiko then take bus to Gotemba next morning to visit gotemba and hakone. Is it possible to start using Hakone free pass from gotemba? I will go back to Tokyo from Odawara by JR.

Yes, you can purchase the pass from some ticket counter at the station (but not the JR ticket counter). I think it is the counter near the taxi stands. Ask a station staff if you can't find it.
