Age limit for Japan universities? 2009/7/28 19:48
Hello!

Is there an age unit when entering universities in Japan?

Do you have to be 18 in order to enter university? And are there specific cut-off dates?

For instance, for school year 2010-2011, some schools in the Philippines prefer that students must be 17 years old or above on or before October 31, 2010.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It might depend on the university, but typically and as far as I know, you must be at least 18 years old and must have the qualification equavalent to a senior high school graduate. Also, most schools in Japan do not allow grade skipping, so those who have fulfilled high school education of some sort has got to be 18 or over.

Try International Christian University and Sophia (Jochi) University. Both are in Tokyo.
