Tokyo - Fukuoka train 2009/8/3 23:57
What times do the nozomi and hikari trains leave Tokyo on route to Fukuoka, on Sunday 09th August 2009?

Quite often 2009/8/4 10:43
Here's a link to the timetable:http://japanrail.com/pdf/timetable_fare/timetable_fare1...

During some parts of the day, you'll have more than 10 trains per hour, so whenever you show up, there should be another train coming along shortly.

Just keep in mind that if you take a Hikari train, you'll need to transfer at Shin-Osaka or Okayama station. No big deal for those on the JR pass, considering it's value.

That is rather misleading, as just because there are 10 departures per hour doesn't mean they all go to Hakata (Fukuoka) or would be of any use to someone wanting to go there.
There are usually 2 to 3 direct "Nozomi" services per hour to Hakata and a further two "Hikari" services (to Shin-Osaka or Okayama) that provide convenient connections onward to Hakata.
