Best German Restaurant? 2009/9/9 14:54
Hello,

I am a German guy currently living in Tokyo (Shibuya area) and am in a relationship with a japanese girl. Since she wants to eat real German food, I try to find a very good German restaurant here, which has good typical German food (sausages, Schnitzel...).

I don't want to go to this types of restaurant, where the Japanese could have the impression Germany is a big Octoberfest (I think many Japanese people think so), but a more serious restaurant.

Restaurant Lohmeyer (Ginza) 2009/9/9 16:13
How about Lohmeyer in Ginza?
They seem to offer authentic German dishes such as Schnitzel, Schweinehaxe, eisbein, Sauerbraten, Maultasche, etc.

I have not been there *yet* but I've heard good comments about it. Though it is not only "traditional" German food, but more of original cooking based on German cooking and adding a bit of French or Italian tastes - check under "menu" :)

In the same buidling as Goethe-Institut Tokyo in Akasaka.

Dogenzaga 2009/9/10 20:10
I liked German Farm Grill at the top of Dogenzaga in Shibuya. It was good enough for me.
