A family friend, in Japan, recently sent a wedding gift, along with a gift for our first born, due in 2010. She is a close friend of my Japanese mother-in-law. I did meet her last year, in Japan. I would like to send her something to let her know that we received her gifts and are very grateful.

A warm thank-you letter along with a small personal token of appreciation appropriate for someone her age would be fine.
