Sakura House (living suggestions) 2009/11/25 08:50
Hello, I am studying in Tokyo and looking for a place to live. I was directed to Sakura House and have been bookmarking ones that I like. (Sugamo, Ochiai minami nagasaki, kameido) Anyone have any experience with Sakura House and could tell me some good ones in Tokyo. I do not care if the room is small, I just want it to be CLEAN. After I was told by a person in Asakusa 2 that they had cockroaches, I'm a bit worried...

take a look at this:
http://www.tokyocityapartments.net/

they have apartments all over tokyo and some of them in nakano really close to shinjuku.

it's cheap and location is really convenient. i didn't have any problem with cockroaches but a friend of mine did in a different building, however he called the staff and they took care of it right away.

Another option for an apartment 2009/12/1 15:58
Hello, another option is http://www.space-d.co.jp. They also have apartments all over Tokyo and they are very clean. There is no key money or hidden fees. You can rent one complete with furniture for about 150,000 yen. They seem to be catering to students lately so maybe bookmark this one too.

Cockroaches are pretty common in Tokyo and all over Japan even in clean places. You can get these cockroach hotels sold at most pharmacies and 7 11's and they work pretty well. After living 10 years in Japan I got pretty good at keeping them at bay.

Good luck.
