Interested in Painting a Mural in Nippon

Hello everyone ^^ Next January, I plan on going to Nippon to live there for about a year. I plan on seeing most of the sights of Japan as well as meeting all of the people. I'm currently studying the language with my sensei Nanasawa-san and doing workbooks so I hope to have an intermediate understanding of the language by the time I'm ready to head to Nippon.
Anyway, during my visit, I was interested in painting a beautiful mural, but I have no idea where to start looking for a place. I understand that I need a permit to do something like this but if there's anyone currently living in Japan that may have an idea of where I could start looking, I would greatly appreciate it!
