Visa/ARC come back in Asia 2010/6/2 08:13
Hello,

I was in Japan 2 years ago and I leave to HK after 1 year, and I didn't return the ARC (I didn't know the procedure).
I visited Japan after with a Tourist Visa without issue; I said to the immigration that I'm not working anymore in Japan, I loose the RC, so I have not way to return it.
I may find a new job in Japan and I want to know if my Visa is canceled or not.
On my passport, there is nothing on the visa to say it's canceled, I have just a Tourist Visa which can be a problem.

Any advice ?

Thanks.

visa invalid 2010/6/2 12:53
If you entered Japan in the meantime on a tourist permit then your other visa status is definitely invalid. You will need to start the visa application process from the beginning again.

For future reference, all you have to do to return the ARC when you leave Japan is to hand it to the Immigration official.
