My friend lives in the Shiga Prefecture. I want to call her from Australia. The phone number she has given me is 080XXXXXXXXX. I can't get through even though I added the country code (81). Can anyone tell what I am doing wrong?

It is not a valid phone number. 080 indicates that it is a mobile phone number. Mobile phone numbers come with a total of 11 digits, however your listed number has 12 digits.
