How to receive money from Canada?

My friend needs to send me about 500.00 CAD to me here in Japan but I do not have a Japanese bank account so there is no way to do a bank to bank transfer. What other ways are there to send this money over?

Do you have a bank account in Canada? If so, they you can just ask your friends to deposit/transfer the money to your Canadian bank account, then draw the money from a post office ATM in Japan.
