Sasebo sushi restaurants

I'm traveling to Sasebo for work early 2011 and was wondering if there are any good sushi restaurants near the Navy base. I've only been to a rotary place along the shopping arcade and the sushi wasn't that great.

Did a quick check on positively reviewed sushi places in Sasebo.

Wakou-zushi (˜aKé˝) is located in Shimokyomachi, a few minutes walk from the Kyomachi stoplight (the side with the KFC).

It was recommended for the freshness of its ingredients, nice hostess (okamisan), and good business hours (open until late).

Next time I'm in Nagasaki, I'll try to pay them a visit ( and add the experience to my blog at http://metropolitansushi.com/blog ).
