A few food questions 2011/1/11 23:59
Is "mizuame" the same as high fructose corn syrup?

What is "toreharosu?"

Are there food labeling laws here in Japan that require all ingredients to be listed?
And that the ingredients are listed in the order of greatest amount to least amount?

Sometimes I see something like "V..." on the ingredient list. Is that like a preservative?

Thanks!

I believe that not "all" ingredients are listed, but the main ones are, and yes, in the order of the volume contained.

Makers owe the duty of printing the 7 allergens and they need to print as much as possible the other 18 allergens. "V" I believe stands for "vitamin" and usually used as preserves.

Ask your local Public Health Center if you need to know more details.
